Freycinet Wine
If you appreciate good wine then you will most likely know the Freycinet Coast & Maria Island region is acclaimed world-over for its cool climate wines. Varieties include pinot noir, chardonnay, sauvignon blanc and riesling with some wineries producing the lesser known varieties such as guwertz.
There are a number of local wineries with cellar door tastings, including the prestigious Freycinet Vineyard, producer of world class Pinot Noir and Riesling plus ''Radenti'' a fabulous multi medal sparkling wine, available cellar door only. The other nearby wineries are: Coombend (Pinot Noir, Cab Sav, Late Harvest Sav Blanc), Springvale (Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Guwertz) and Craigie Knowe (Cabernet Blend and Pinot Noir), none of which should be missed.
